FIFA 23 is the last edition of the game to be released under the FIFA name. From next year onwards, EA will be releasing its games under a different name: EA SPORTS FC FIFA 23 coins. EA has announced in a release: "After nearly 30 years of creating defining soccer experiences that interact, we'll shortly be entering a new exciting time.
"Next year, EA SPORTS FC will be the new name for football from EA SPORTS. Along with our license partners of 300+ across the field we're set to take global football experiences to new heights, on behalf of everyone who loves football around the world.
"Everything you enjoy about our games will be part of EA SPORTS FC - the identical great experiences, modes and leagues, tournaments, clubs and athletes will be available. Ultimate Team Career Mode, Elite Clubs as well as VOLTA Football will all be available. Our exclusive licensing portfolio of more than 19,000 players as well as 700+ teams 100+ stadiums, and 30 leagues we've been able with our investment for decades will remain available and only with EA SPORTS FC. That includes exclusive agreements in the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, the MLS - and more to be added in the future."
These special extras were introduced to spotlight athletes who share " the common trait of leadership as well as respect for the clubs they played for".
