Finglas woman (41) to stand trial accused of €11k theft from cargo company

Elaine White (41) has not yet indicated a plea to the chargesA Dublin woman accused of stealing more than in €11,500 from a cargo company has been sent forward for trial.Elaine White (41) was served with the book of evidence when she appeared on bail before Blanchardstown District Court.The accused, of Griffith Road in Finglas, is facing more than 10 counts of theft.It is alleged that on various dates between March 10, 2019, and January 31, 2020, she operated a computer or caused a computer to be operated, with the intention of making gain for herself.On April 24, 2019, it is ­alleged that Ms White stole €100 by fraudulently increasing tax credit, for and on behalf of a logistics company.On various other dates in 2019, it is alleged that Ms White stole cash by transferring money from the same company into her personal bank account.It is further alleged that Ms White stole a €1,500 lodgment cheque on August 8, 2019; €246 in respect of a fraudulent invoice on December 11, 2019; and €3,690 by making an unauthorised alteration in respect of the standard cut-off rate for payment on December 31, 2019.It is also alleged that she stole €1,515 by the unauthorised alteration of an income-tax payment on January 31, 2020.Ms White is alleged to have stolen a total of €11,983.A state solicitor said the book of evidence had been served on the accused, who goes forward to the next sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.Judge Máire Conneely gave Ms White the formal alibi caution.Judge Conneely assigned defence solicitor Peter Connolly and one junior counsel on free legal aid.Ms White has not yet indicated a plea to the charges.
