Dalata Hotel Group sells Maldron Hotel Wexford

Dalata Hotel Group, the country's biggest hotel group, has announced a deal to sell the Maldron Hotel Wexford to The Neville Park Hotel Group, which is owned by local Wexford man Colm Neville. The transaction is scheduled to complete by November 5. The Neville Park Hotel Group also owns the Riverside Park Hotel, Crown Quarter and the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise. Dalata said it has started a comprehensive process of employee engagement to ensure a seamless transition to its new owner. It said the sale of the hotel, which was assisted by Savills, is an opportunity to capitalise on an attractive valuation and recycle capital through its business to drive further growth. "Dalata remains committed to the Irish market and its portfolio where it is the leading hotel operator through its Clayton and Maldron brands," the hotel group said. It also revealed that it is in exclusive discussions with a preferred bidder regarding the sale of the Clayton Hotel Whites Wexford. Further details will be announced in due course and there is no certainty that a transaction will be completed, it added. Dermot Crowley, CEO of Dalata Hotel Group, said that the Maldron Hotel Wexford is an excellent, well-run hotel, with a strong team in place. "I have no doubt it will continue to perform strongly as part of The Neville Park Hotel Group. Our immediate priority, is to continue engaging with our employees as we assist them with the transition," Mr Crowley said. "Ireland remains a key strategic location for Dalata, and our focus is continuing to deliver industry leading hospitality for our guests across all of our locations," he added. Colm Neville, owner of The Neville Park Hotel Group, said he was extremely happy to have been able to purchase such an esteemed property in his home county of Wexford. "The potential the Maldron Hotel has is immense, and I am very excited to add it to our portfolio. The hotel's strategic location and the loyalty of its team, some of whom have been with the hotel for over 15 years, make it a fantastic addition," Mr Neville said. "We hope to continue their long-standing service and see great potential to grow the bar and restaurant business within the local market," he added.
