Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.7 now available in several Microsoft products and services

Anthropic has released Opus 4.7, its most advanced model yet, and it will be broadly available to consumers, developers, and organizations. Opus 4.7 is promising significant improvements in complex software engineering tasks, with a better ability to handle long-running work more consistently. The model also delivers major improvements in vision capabilities.

Unlike in the past, Microsoft is no longer limiting itself to OpenAI’s GPT-series models. Late last year, Microsoft began offering Anthropic’s Claude models through Microsoft Foundry. Since then, Microsoft has expanded Claude support across several of its products and services. With Anthropic announcing Opus 4.7 today, Microsoft has also confirmed day-one support across several of its products and services.

First, Claude Opus 4.7 is now rolling out on GitHub Copilot in the following products:

The GitHub team also announced that Opus 4.7 will replace Opus 4.5 and Opus 4.6 in the model picker for Copilot Pro+ in the coming weeks. This new model is launching with a 7.5× premium request multiplier as part of a limited-time offer until April 30th. As always, Copilot Enterprise and Copilot Business plan administrators must enable the Claude Opus 4.7 model in Copilot settings.

Second, Microsoft 365 Copilot users can now use the Claude Opus 4.7 model in Copilot Cowork (Frontier) and Copilot Studio early-release cycle environments, and also in Copilot in Excel. Customers can select the new model in the model selector.

Third, the Claude Opus 4.7 model is now available through Microsoft Foundry for enterprises and developers. Developers will be able to access the Claude Opus 4.7 model through Foundry's standard model APIs. Microsoft highlighted that Claude Code is available via the Anthropic API routed through Microsoft Foundry. Finally, GitHub Copilot CLI with Claude is also available to GitHub Copilot Enterprise subscribers today.
