Situated on ’s Queen Street, this four-bedroom abode is so plush, it feels fit for royalty.
Spanning just over 4,500 square feet, the residence was built back in 1995 by an architect for his own family. In 2023, it underwent a full renovation, and an addition was added the following year, with the architect Sebastian von Marschall tacking on a chic pool house and a new primary suite. Throughout, bold colors, intricate wallpaper, and funky patterns create visual interest, catching your eye wherever you turn.
Mural wallpaper wraps around the formal dining room.

This is evident from the minute you step into the bright-blue foyer, which has a classic black-and-white checkered tile floor. It leads right through to the formal dining room, wrapped in Paul Montgomery mural wallpaper and topped off by an antiqued mirrored inset ceiling. The marble kitchen is complemented by a matching butler’s pantry custom-designed to show off your china and glassware. A den with a wet bar, a brick-floored study, and a powder room cap off the main level.
Upstairs, the second and third floors are taken up by guest bedrooms—the top floor sports dormered ceilings, multiple window seats, and a whimsical bathroom surrounded by jungle wallpaper. Set above the addition, the primary suite is a complete retreat: The serene bedroom is paired with an ample bathroom sporting dual vanities and a moody black-tiled shower. The showstopper, though, is the dressing room, a boutique-style space outfitted with a marble-topped island, display storage, and illuminated cabinetry.
Lush landscaping surrounds the pool and the central brick courtyard.

Out back, the central brick courtyard has plenty of space for lounging about. Lush plantings throughout give the yard a resort-like vibe, enhanced by the small pool where you can splash around. When hosting summer parties, you don’t have to worry about heading back and forth from the main house—the pool house is equipped with a wet bar, dishwasher, and two powder rooms. Inspired by the maximalist interior designer Dorothy Draper, the space is decked out in playful wallpaper, bright textiles, and marble checkerboard flooring.
The Charleston abode is on the market for $10.9 million with Leslie Turner at Maison . While it’s a more recent build in the city, it still fits with the historic properties that dot the southern town, like a Greek Revival estate that listed for $7.4 million just a couple of months ago.
