Major fashion brand announces Trafford Centre and Manchester Arndale stores in first move to north west

A major retailer loved for its womens leisurewear has announced huge UK expansion plans with TWO Greater Manchester stores to open for the first time this year.Canadian lifestyle brand GARAGE has confirmed it is making its first moves into the north west, after successful launches in London. It will open stores in two of the region's biggest shopping malls - at the Manchester Arndale and the Trafford Centre.The Arndale will be the first to welcome GARAGE, with plans for the shop to open this July. Stay tuned — Manchester, it’s almost your turn."The brand, known for its colourful stretch gym sets, tracksuits and fitness accessories, was founded in Montreal in Canada 50 years ago. But it has risen to global prominence in recent years with the huge uptick in finess fashion and leisurewear.Describing the brand, bosses say: "Built on attitude and influence, GARAGE is more than a clothing brand — it’s a movement. With monthly drops designed to keep her closet — and her feed — ahead of the curve, GARAGE has become a go-to for the woman who knows exactly who she is and owns it."It has not yet been confirmed where in the Arndale Centre or Trafford Centre the new GARAGE stores will sit.But it comes amid a burgeoning time for both retail destinations - particularly in the fitness fashion sector.The Arndale welcomed a new Champion Store last month while it will welcome a new Neal's Yard beauty store soon. Meanwhile the Trafford Centre has announced a huge new Lululemon is set to open in the Summer, as well as a new UNIQLO boutique and expanded FootAsylum.
