Budapest Festival Orchestra ? Brand Identity Concept

In 2024, we were invited to develop a brand identity concept for the Budapest Festival Orchestra (BFZ) as part of a design competition. Our concept builds on the orchestra’s existing logo, transforming it into a cohesive visual identity system. The original mark is expanded with a motif representing the audience, forming a dynamic, generative system. The identity is built on a custom pattern generator, which visually expresses the close relationship between the orchestra and its listeners, capturing the distinctive atmosphere of BFZ concerts. The identity balances tradition and innovation: it is flexible and adaptable, yet grounded in strong, recognizable foundations. The color palette and typography are designed to be contemporary yet timeless, supporting the orchestra’s international presence. The typography also functions independently, ensuring a clear and consistent visual voice across all applications. Designed for both print and digital use, the identity is scalable and versatile, allowing for variation while maintaining a unified and recognizable appearance.
