Woman charged and man arrested over assault of two gardaí
A woman and a man both aged in their 30s have been arrested in connection to the assault of two gardaí in Co Donegal.A Garda spokesperson had said that two gardaí had receieved a call to visit a premises on Neil T. Blaney Road, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal on Thursday afternoon at around 3pm.Two male gardaí arrived at the scene but were said to be assaulted by the man, who was later detained.The man remains in custody at this time while the woman has been released and charged in connection to the investigation.She will appear before Letterkenny District Court on Monday, May 11.The two gardaí then received treatment in hospital for the injuries sustained during the incident and have since been discharged.Read moreDubliner jailed for killing brother-in-law banned from road for three years for drink drivingThe Garda spokesperson added that peer support is being provided to the injured Gardaí.Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
