Trump vs Candace Owens: POTUS takes ‘Time magazine' dig at streamer over Brigitte Macron row; ‘her stock…’

President Donald Trump on Monday controversial streamer Candace Owens with a meme featuring a Time magazine cover spoof where Owens was declared "The Vile Person of the Year." Trump said that Candace Owens, who has criticized the Trump administration over various issues in recent times, is an "extremely Low IQ individual."

He also slammed Candace Owens for her attack on Brigitte Macron, calling it "despicable." Owens has made a series of allegations against the First Lady of France, including claiming that she was male and later transitioned her gender.

Candace Owen's claims have caused a massive uproar and have led to a lawsuit against the French First Lady.

“Candace Owens’ stock, which was never very high, has fallen a long way,” Trump wrote. “Her attack on the First Lady of France is despicable. I believe, in this case, without verification, she is an extremely Low IQ individual!”

Owens, once a staunch supporter of the President, has turned to criticizing the POTUS over his steps in the ongoing Gaza war, accusing the Trump administration of being complicit in Charlie Kirk's death, and most recently claiming that Israel pressured the US to strike Iran.

However, thus far, Trump had not directly attacked Candace Owens on social media. As of now, the controversial streamer and podcaster has not responded t Trump's comments. Owens has been travelling this weekend as said that this week's episode of her show will not appear.

“No show today!! Sorry—I thought I had announced I was traveling with my family. See you guys next week!” she wrote.

Owens repeated and amplified conspiracy theories alleging Brigitte Macron was born male and later transitioned. These claims have no credible evidence and have been widely debunked. Brigitte Macron has taken legal action in France against people spreading the claims, arguing they are defamatory.

She, along with her husband Emmanuel Macron, filed a defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens in Delaware Superior Court in July 2025. Owens, meanwhile, has called the entire thing Owens called the “biggest political scandal in human history.” Owens also tied them to the Stanford Prison Experiment and CIA plots, claims they have called "absurd."

Notably, a Paris court convicted 10 people in January 2026 for cyber-harassing Brigitte with similar rumors. They face jail terms and fines.
