Ibiza is set to see a once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse this summer, the first on the popular Spanish island in 121 years.
The party hotspot will welcome visitors in their hordes, with many lured in by the promise of the island's 'greatest ever sunset'.
On August 12 this year, the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe since 1999 will take place, and Ibiza is in the path of totality.
The next rare celestial event is not due for another 154 years, and totality is set for 8.32pm, coinciding with the island's famous sunset.
For those who are keen to see it, package holiday company On the Beach has launched a trip that guarantees views of the acclaimed Ibiza sunset.
Holiday packages start from £500pp including flights, three nights and breakfast, with each hotel picked by experts for its rooftop bars, guaranteeing a view of the incredible eclipse.
In fact, experts at On the Beach say this eclipse is even more special than previous ones, because it will take place at 8.32pm, which means it will be during the Ibiza sunset.
Caspar Nelson, holiday expert at On the Beach, said: 'If you've been to Ibiza, you know the sunsets are magical - however, this is a once-in-a-lifetime sunset.
Ibiza will view the total solar eclipse on August 12 this summer
What makes this event special is that it will coincide with sunset on the Spanish island
'This is a sunset that will become a core memory for anyone there. We're talking tunes, rooftop bars, vibes and a party that won't stop even after the sun has gone down.'
Holiday experts at On the Beach have handpicked three standout hotels that tick every box, ensuring holidaymakers can enjoy the best possible setting and views for this year's eclipse.
The first is the Innside Ibiza Beach, known for its rooftop terrace (Roof Top Nine) with an infinity pool, Balinese beds, and panoramic views of the bay's sunset.
Next, the TRS Ibiza Hotel has the incredible Gravity Sky Lounge Bar, a guaranteed eclipse viewing hotspot, or for a more intimate setting, pick a room with a sea view balcony.
The Bonito Ibiza by O Beach is the final hotel on the list and has epic sea views as well as a rooftop to see the sunset.
It is also close to Wayne Lineker's famous O Beach, where you can party alongside Love Islanders.
Holidaymakers heading out for the phenomenon are also being urged by On the Beach to pack certified eclipse glasses, as looking directly at the sun before or after totality can seriously damage eyesight.
Although Ibiza will be the best place to view the eclipse, other areas such as the Balearic Islands and parts of mainland Spain are expected to host special parties and viewing events in the countdown to the rare celestial moment.
There are plenty of hotels organising events to celebrate and mark the eclipse occasion
Other hotels are launching events to mark the momentous occasion.
Six Senses Ibiza is celebrating the rare astronomical event with wellness-related activities such as guided meditations and collective intention-setting.
The hotel says: 'Restore balance with our wellness activities, including sunrise movement sessions, sound healing, and evening breathwork under the open sky.
'Workshops and talks explore astrology, mythology, and creative awareness through an accessible and experiential approach.'
From August 11 to 14, 2026 the luxury hotel will have eclipse-focused events.
Plus, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is offering a 'Beyond the Sun' programme, described as: 'once-in-a-lifetime experience designed around two rare cosmic spectacles - the Total Solar Eclipse and the peak of the Perseid Meteor Showers - witnessed from one of the Mediterranean's most coveted barefoot luxury retreat.'
This will include luxury private villa accommodation, food, meditation portals, and an eclipse sunset hike on August 12, reserved exclusively for guests to witness the total solar eclipse at its most dramatic moment.
Ibiza Rocks hotel will also host a pool party to mark the occasion.
Its website says: 'Daytime energy, music by the pool and the perfect balance to big nights during eclipse week.'
