How to convert boss materials to Lair Keys in Diablo 4?

If you are playing on the Eternal Realm servers in Diablo 4 and you have leftover boss materials like Distilled Fear, Aberrant Hearts, etc., you can convert them into Lair Keys at any nearby Alchemist. These keys are required to open boss hoards, which gives you access to endgame rewards in Diablo 4.

While the items clearly state what you need to do, here is a clear breakdown on how to convert boss materials into lair keys.

While the conversion process is fairly straightforward, it is important to note that this is specifically for the Eternal Realm players who already own a ton of boss materials.

Here are the steps to convert the boss materials:

Step 1

The first thing you need to do is to visit the nearest Alchemist. Interact with the NPC and open the crafting menu.

You will need to spend 12 of the same magic boss material type to get one Lair Key (Image via Blizzard Entertainment || Sportskeeda) Step 2

Next, you need to navigate to Transmutation and select the Summoning Item section. This is where the conversion from boss materials to keys happens.

Step 3

Boss materials like Abhorrant Heart (Rare Lair Boss Material), Distilled Fear (Magic Lair Boss Material), etc., are described as follows in the game:

“This object has temporarily lost its connection to a powerful entity.”

Depending on the rarity of the material, here's the basic conversion rate for Lair Keys:

12x Magic Boss Material (same type) gives you 1x Lair Key3x Rare Boss Material (same type) gives you 1x Greater Lair Key
