Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo has claimed that the players are ready to give it their all on the pitch for Michael Carrick. He heaped praise on the manager, saying that he has been a huge part of the club's impressive 2026 form.
Speaking to the media after the 3-2 win over Liverpool, Mainoo said that Carrick gives all the players confidence and that has reflected on the pitch. He added that they are willing to do anything for the manager on the pitch and said:
Thanks for the submission!
"He's played a huge part in it, all the confidence he gives all the players. You want to follow him and fight for him and die for him on the pitch." (via GOAL)Carrick was asked about Mainoo's comments and he was delighted to hear the praise from his player. The Manchester United manager was quick to praise his players in return and said:
"I think that’s one of the biggest things for me, is trying to get the best out of people, and helping players and giving them the opportunity to go and perform and do what they’re good at really. There’s that side and then there’s obviously being part of it today and seeing this place alive and bouncing at the end is a real joy and a pleasure to be in the position." "I think as a group of players, they need a lot of credit for the run they’re putting together and the coaching staff as well, especially for the lot of work that goes on." Michael Carrick admitted that it has been a good run for Manchester United since he took over at the club. He was delighted to have the club back near the top of the table and said:
"It’s been a good run, I think we’ve beat some very, very good teams and it’s been challenging, sometimes we’ve won it in some ways, sometimes we’ve won it in other ways. I love doing what I’m doing, it’s a great position for me to be in. It feels natural if I’m being totally honest, I’m not being blase because it’s a difficult role, but it feels that I’ve been here a long time in different times, on and off, but I can understand what it brings. To be sat in this position is a good position to be."Manchester United have qualified for the UEFA Champions League next season following their win over Liverpool.
