Foodservice group Sysco Ireland has made three appointments across its operations, culinary and nutrition divisions.
Gavin McMurtry has been named operations and supply chain director, with responsibility for end-to-end operations across the company’s Irish business.
He leads a team of 1,300 colleagues across a central Dublin hub and nine regional centres, managing fleet, facilities, and nearly 9,000 SKUs to support nationwide delivery to more than 11,000 customers.
He previously held senior roles at Aldi in retail and logistics, including managing large-scale distribution operations and leading digital transformation programmes.
Keith Piggott has been appointed development chef at Sysco's site in Limerick, where he will support customers in the south and south-west with menu development and foodservice solutions.
He will work closely with customers to develop efficient, cost-effective kitchen strategies while encouraging the use of fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.
Piggott previously worked as a development chef with Sodexo and has held roles across fine dining, gastro pubs, and cafés, including head chef at Pery Square in Limerick.
He was also the recipient of the National Street Food Award at CATEX 2025.
Finally, Dr Catherine Logan has been appointed as nutritionist, a role in which she will integrate her expertise across the company's Irish operations to support menu development, product innovation, and customer-focused nutrition initiatives.
She will work with chefs, caterers, and foodservice clients to ensure offerings meet nutritional standards and respond to consumer trends.
