OnlyFans Model Pleads Guilty After Client Dies in Fetish Session Involving Plastic Wrap and Gorilla Glue

An OnlyFans model whose client died after being wrapped in plastic wrap in a kinky sex session has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Michaela Rylaarsdam—who was initially charged with second degree murder in the case—pleaded guilty May 6 to a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter, a spokesperson for the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to Oxygen.com.

The California mom is expected to be sentenced to four years in prison in connection to the April 2023 death of Michael Dale at a hearing on June 8.

What Happened to Michael Dale?

The 55-year-old died after he allegedly agreed to pay $11,000 for a fetish session with Rylaarsdam, who advertised her services on Secret Hostess under the name “Ashley SinCal,” according to The New York Post.

Prosecutors said in a preliminary hearing, per People, that Dale arranged to meet Rylaarsdam for a fetish play session.

He allegedly asked the mom of three to wrap him in Saran Wrap “like a mummy,” pour Gorilla Glue into his eyes to seal them closed and glue woman’s boots to his feet as part of the kinky encounter at his Escondido home, the outlet reported.

Prosecutors said Rylaarsdam recorded videos of the meeting, which showed Dale with his wrists bound and a plastic bag over his head. His body was fully encased in plastic wrap while duct tape had been placed over his mouth, authorities said.

When Dale lost consciousness Rylaarsdam called 911, according to City News Service. He died the following day at the hospital.

The medical examiner later determined that Dale died from asphyxiation after concluding that bag had been placed on his head for at least eight minutes, People reported. The death was ruled a homicide.

Police Allege Fetish Session Went Beyond Michael Dale’s Requests

Escondido Police Detective Chris Zack testified during the preliminary hearing that although Dale had voiced requests for the session—like sealing his eyes—he never asked for a plastic bag to be put on his head, according to People.

During the hearing, Dale’s roommate testified that he overheard Dale asking Rylaarsdam to stop, noting Dale even offered her more money to put an end to the session.

Rylaarsdam’s attorney Dan Cohen previously argued, according to The New York Post, that she had never intended to kill Dale.

“I think there was no intent to kill and no attempt to cover this up,” he said, per the outlet. “And she acted appropriately when she realized this was a problem.”

He added that there was “definitely a consensual element” to the case, The New York Post reported.

Oxygen.com reached out to Cohen and the San Diego District Attorney's Office for additional comment,  but did not receive an immediate response.
