LIVE: Japan under tsunami alert, US West Coast under advisory after 8.8 quake strikes off Russia

Oregon, Washington, and California are under a tsunami advisory after an 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Peninsula in Russia.
Alaska and Hawaii are under a tsunami warning.
Impact time for Oregon is estimated to be 11:40 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. PT, according to tsunami.gov.
According to the NWS:
WARNING: Dangerous coastal flooding and powerful currents possible, move to high ground or inland.
ADVISORY: Strong currents and waves dangerous to those in/very near water possible, stay out of water and stay away from beaches and waterways.
WATCH: Distant tsunami possible. Stay tuned for information, be prepared to act.
