Millions of Chinese EV Owners Hit Hard: Mass EV Factory Closures Turn Cars Into Useless Scrap
On September 21, a Neta owner complained that his car had lost its internet connection and he didnβt know what to do.
According to Chinese media, the company did notify some owners ahead of time, but itβs unclear if everyone got the message. On September 11, several owners received a sudden text: βYour car has been disconnected. Please purchase data yourself.β Since the carβs internet provider cut off service, owners couldnβt use remote controls, air conditioning switches, or online navigation. They now have to buy their own data packages to get basic functions back.
