This might honestly be the worst video we’ve ever made… and somehow, we still finished the job.

Today Robby and the crew head up Six Mile Canyon in Sterling to recover a rolled Jeep. Sounds simple enough. Except the road is pure ice, slick from top to bottom, and we quickly realize there’s no chance without chains. So it’s back down the canyon, chain up, and head back in.

Once we finally reach the Jeep, we get Deja Blue and King Fred into position and start setting up for the recovery. Everything looks good. Too good.

Then disaster strikes.

King Fred pops out of gear, slips into neutral, and starts sliding down the mountainside completely out of control. Straight into a tree. Front end smashed. Spirits crushed. A truly sad day.

But King Fred is King Fred.

After pulling him out of the tree and accepting the pain, we turn right back around, head up the canyon again, and finish what we came to do. The Jeep gets recovered, the job gets done, and somehow we limp away with a story we’ll never forget.

This one hurts. But you’re not going to want to miss it.
