'Do they know where petrol comes from?': James O'Brien on Iran
James O’Brien takes aim at the commentators who “have been catastrophically wrong about everything for almost a decade” yet still dominate the debate - from Brexit to Iran.
He argues they are now trying to change the subject, attacking Keir Starmer over a “six-month distant rise in the price of petrol” just hours after demanding he enter the conflict.
It comes as fuel prices nationwide have risen following the US and Israel's war with Iran, with crude oil prices surging from about $75 at the start of the month before peaking earlier this week at just under $120.
The cost has now fallen back but had almost hit $100 earlier on Thursday.
The rise has been driven by uncertainty over supply due to Iranian attacks on oil producers and the disruption to one of the main supply routes.
