HORMUZ: The war has become the War of Hormuz. Yair reports that President Donald Trump gave Iran a 48-hour ultimatum to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, warning that if it does not, the United States will destroy Iran’s power stations beginning with the largest. Iran responded by threatening to strike all U.S. energy infrastructure in the region if its fuel and energy facilities are attacked.
ISRAEL: Israel remains under Iranian fire, with direct hits reported in southern Israel, including Arad and Dimona. The report says hundreds were wounded in recent strikes, including 115 wounded in a residential building in Arad, but no deaths. In response, the Israeli Air Force launched what Yair describes as an especially intense and crushing wave of strikes in Tehran, while also attacking additional targets in Isfahan and Karaj.
IRAN: Yair reports that Iran launched ballistic missiles toward the American base at Diego Garcia at a range of about 4,000 kilometers, exposing what he says is a more advanced missile-range capability than previously known. He also says Israel struck two leaders of a secret Iranian project during the night, and that Israeli officials assess with high probability that both were eliminated.
GULF: Qatar is pressing Washington to end the war quickly, while Saudi Arabia and the Emirates are pushing to continue until the Revolutionary Guards are destroyed. After Iranian strikes on Bahrain, the Emirates, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, cooperation with the United States has become, in Yair’s words, a matter of survival for Gulf states.
REGION: The U.S. is moving thousands of additional troops into the region, reportedly to help secure freedom of navigation in Hormuz and possibly support additional operations tied to Kharg Island and Iranian enriched uranium. Yair also says Iran issued an immediate evacuation warning to Doha and even marked Al Jazeera, while later criticism from Al Jazeera questioned Iran’s strategy and messaging.
