Sir Keir Starmer allowed the US military to feel "let down" by refusing to let UK bases be used in the initial US strikes against Iran, former foreign secretary David Owen has told Sky News.
Speaking to Sir Trevor Phillips, he said there was "growing anger" on the other side of the Atlantic over the UK's stance.
The prime minister initially refused to let US aircraft use UK bases over fears about the legal basis of the strikes against Iran - he later backtracked on that decision.
