All four B-52H Stratofortress bombers taking off from RAF Fairford, UK after a deployment to Europe. Plenty of smokey departures as the 1950s planes returned to the United States.
The bomber planes were deployed at Royal Air Force Fairford, UK on Bomber Task Force 25-2; that included flying over European cities such as Oslo, bombing ranges in Turkey, and flying with NATO fighter jets in the Baltic Sea - among many other missions, including to the Middle East. RAF Fairford is the dedicated bomber airfield for US military operations in Europe.
The B-52 Stratofortress has been in service since 1952. The latest variant, the B-52H, went into service in 1961. All the bombers shown in this video are from the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.
