18C temperature swing with 'plenty of sunshine' but 'chilly' nights ahead

Met Eireann are forecasting "plenty of sunshine" for the weekend and the start of next week. But those clear skies will also bring some "chilly" nights, with temperatures potentially swinging from highs of 19C to lows of 1C in a single day on Monday. This morning, Dubliners are waking up to a mix of cloud, some isolated patches of drizzle, and some lingering fog. All of that will clear northwestwards as the morning goes on however, leaving a dry day ahead. Temperatures should get up to around 15C, with some fresh win ds if you're near the coasts. Tonight will be dry and clear, with lows of 6C. And here is Met Eireann's full forecast for the weekend and into next week: Overview: Dry through the period. Plenty of sunshine during the days with temperatures gradually increasing further. Chilly during the nights. Saturday: Dry and largely sunny tomorrow though a little breezy with moderate to fresh easterly winds, easing later. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees. Saturday night: Dry and clear. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees in light to moderate easterly breezes. Sunday: Another dry and sunny day for most but cloudier conditions may develop in the southwest with the odd spot of drizzle possible near coasts. Highest temperatures of 11 to 18 degrees, warmest in the west and southwest, in light to moderate east to southeast breezes. Sunday night: Dry overnight with mostly clear skies allowing it to become chilly with lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees. A few mist and fog patches will develop in light southeast breezes. Monday: Dry with plenty of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 13 to 18 or 19 degrees, coolest for southern and eastern coasts, in mostly light southeast breezes. Dry overnight though some fog patches will develop. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees in light variable breezes. Tuesday: Fog will clear through in the morning to leave another dry day with plenty of sunshine, turning hazy at times. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees in light southeast or variable breezes. Further Outlook: High pressure will continue to dominate our weather for the rest of the working week bringing dry conditions with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures in the mid to high teens.
