Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after being hit by car

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Longford. The crash happened on the L1127 road in Mullaghvorneen at around 6pm yesterday. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured in the crash, and was airlifted to Midland Regional Hospital. He has since been transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin. Gardai have completed a technical examination of the crash scene, and have appealed today for any witnesses, or anyone with footage of the area at the time, to come forward. A garda spokesperson said: "Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision at Mullaghvorneen, Co. Longford, on Monday, 21st April, 2025. At approximately 6pm, Gardai and emergency services were alerted following a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the L1127 road. "The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries to the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore and later transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin. A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. "Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the L1127 between the GAA club and Ballymacormack Cemetery between 5.30pm and 6pm on 21st April are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
