A$AP Rocky Lets Rihanna Steal From His Closet—but Only if He Can Steal From Hers
You know that rom-com fantasy of stealing your significant other's jacket? Well, according to A$AP Rocky, if your clothing exchange is only going one way then you're doing it wrong. Speaking ahead of the 2025 Met Gala, A$AP explained that he loves stealing clothes from Rihanna just as much as she enjoys grabbing things from his closet. What's important is that it's a two-way street.“For me, it's not fair that my girl can just go in my closet and just take anything from me and wear it. That goes both ways,” A$AP said during an appearance on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast. The rapper, who is also acting as one of the Met Gala co-chairs this year, admitted that Rihanna will sometimes grab something form his closet without knowing he actually stole it from her first! Not that he's complaining. All's fair in love and fashion. “She does it to me all the time,” he continued. “Sometimes you just see her like in an interview or paparazzi photo and I'm just like, ‘Wait, there goes my Miu Miu jacket. Like, what the fuck. I was looking for that since 2021!’”Jackson Lee/GC ImagesA$AP continued, saying that he doesn't “see any barriers” between typically “feminine” and “masculine” clothes. This is something he's talked about before, and in fact the rapper has often challenged gender norms through his fashion. Speaking of his decision to wear floral Gucci scares around his head, he told Vogue. “I'm a firm believer that you can't use clothes as masculinity anymore. Those lines are blurred as well, so I like to pay with that,” he said. “I thought it was unfair that guys couldn't wear a silk scarf on their head with glasses.”Another traditionally gendered accessory A$AP enjoys is bags. Though he told Vogue that he's “always had bags,” having two toddlers—sons RZA and Riot—gives him an “incentive” to invest: “We've got stuff to put in bags! I shouldn't have to carry around my phone, my brush, my comb, my chapstick, like nah, put that in the bag!” So, should we expect A$AP Rocky to roll up to the Met Gala with a giant tote in tow? Maybe, but maybe not. The rapper is nothing if not unpredictable, so it seems we'll just have to wait and see.
