Netflix is rebooting the popular 80s and 90s talent show Star Search.The program ran for 13 seasons between 1983 and 1995 and launched the careers of many A-listers, including Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake.The popular streamer has ordered a revival of the show, according to a report from Variety this week.Formerly hosted by Ed McMahon, the new iteration will air two times a week via livestream and incorporate viewer voting.'Each episode will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers across four categories — music, dance, variety/comedy, kids — as they compete for their shot at stardom.'With an arced competition structure and weekly eliminations, the series builds dramatic momentum, making every live episode an unmissable event,' an official description states.
