A story about Kate being mistaken for William's assistant is making the rounds (care of Hello!)—though the moment actually went down back in 2020, when the royal couple were visiting Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff several months after playing bingo with the residents via Zoom. At the time, an iconic lady named Joan announced that the game "wasn't as good as it should have been," and when William reconnected with her in person she added "You did a bloody shitty job," before turning to Kate and saying "Is that your assistant?"
