Páirc Uí Chaoimh seeks planning for upgraded vehicle facilities 

Pairc Ui Chaoimh has sought planning permission for upgraded vehicle facilities from the city council.The stadium is looking to construct a new vehicular set down and drop off circulation area at the City End side, accessed from Monahan Road, to the south of the existing public concourse and east of the existing pedestrian walkway.The proposed development also includes new landscaping, planting beds, a new road junction design and a pedestrian crossing, as well as associated public lighting and site development works.Cork City Council is due to decide on the proposal by August 20, 2025.Meanwhile, Munster Technological University’s Bishopstown campus could see its sports facilities upgraded as part of new plans submitted to Cork City Council.The university has sought planning permission to convert two existing soccer pitches to a single-size synthetic all-weather GAA pitch, as well as the conversion of an additional natural grass soccer pitch into another all-weather pitch.The proposed development will also include new floodlights, an underground water tank and associated site works.Cork City Council are due to decide on the development by August 18, 2025.
