US sanctions Cuban president, top officials for ‘regime’s brutality’

In the latest in a series of measures by President Donald Trump's administration to increase pressure on the Cuban government, the US on Friday announced sanctions against Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, as well as the country's defence and interior ministers, for a deadly crackdown on protests in 2021.
