(A-1)New Friend Detected

You round a corner in the stone halls and stop.

A-1, the tiny copper prototype, is perched on a block, halo glowing softly. She leans forward, intensely focused, gently poking a trembling purple Test Imp with one metal finger. The Imp squeaks and shuffles back; A-1 shuffles after it, eyes huge with wonder.

Smoke curls beside you.

The Elf steps out of the shadows, staff tapping once, cigarette ember flaring.
“Prototype A-1,” she says. “Compact Auriel unit. Copper chassis, simplified mechanics, very durable, very curious.” She nods at the imp. “Excellent for interacting with volatile specimens so you don’t have to.”

A-1 glances up at you, then back to the Imp, quietly recording every reaction.

“She catalogs, tests, remembers,” the Elf goes on. “Perfect for anyone who collects dangerous little problems and prefers their assistant to actually work rather than sulk on a crate complaining about rent like a certain sub-merchant.”

She gives you a small, knowing smile.
“If you’re interested, I can have a contract ready at the tent. Curiosity like that deserves an owner who can keep up.”
