23 Documentaries That Are Both Feel Good And Good

Documentaries have earned a perhaps unfair reputation as entertainment for smart people. In the past, when documentaries were all about polar bear mating and the rise and fall of obscure fascist regimes, that was true enough, but modern documentaries are wild rides. Sometimes, that's literally true – you'll find plenty about amusement park accidents – but more generally, they're full of death, sex, and scandal.

In fact, they might be a little too full of it. These days, it's easy for documentary fans to get burnt out after one too many limited series about the torture and murder of yet another attractive young woman. What started out as morbid fascination turns quickly to weighing the pros and cons of a life lived entirely from bed.

That's why u/Jaded_Performance713 asked r/AskReddit, “What's a good documentary that doesn’t involve death, rape, or kidnapping?”
