As we approach the new year, things may not be as rosy as we'd hope, if Baba Vanga's predictions are anything to go by.
The late Bulgarian seer, who died in 1996, is said to have left a plethora of prophecies for future generations, extending all the way to the year 5079.
One such prediction is currently being interpreted as a sign of our times.
Vangelia Pandeva Gushterova, credited with accurately predicting the floods of 2022, Princess Diana's death and the 9/11 attacks in New York City, is also believed to have foreseen the onset of the apocalypse and issued warnings about it before her demise.
In recent years, her name has frequently resurfaced on the internet, particularly as global tensions escalate and extreme weather events become more severe, sparking fresh debates over whether her visions were symbolic or literal.
Her followers argue that her prophecies tend to re-emerge whenever the world grapples with uncertainty, while sceptics contend that many of her predictions are sufficiently ambiguous to apply to almost any significant event, reports the Express.

She also hinted at the potential exploration of other planets, including Venus.
However, the most unsettling prediction for this year suggests we will encounter a period of international conflicts.
She indicated that this is the year society will recognise that we have pushed "too far" with technological progress and will reach a critical juncture.
Experts also suggest she was hinting at predictions of a possible World War III, though she made no reference to nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
In somewhat more improbable predictions, Baba Vanga suggests humans could begin to make telepathic communication a reality.
She also, perhaps optimistically, wagered on medical advancement reaching the stage of cultivating human organs in laboratories, thus pushing life expectancy to approximately 120 years globally.
On a brighter note, Sky History interpreted one of Baba Vanga's predictions as an indication that Lewis Hamilton will guide Ferrari to its first drivers' championship in 2026, in a thrilling showdown against Max Verstappen.
