Tragedy on Irish farm as man killed and another seriously injured in wall collapse

One man died and another man has been seriously injured after a wall collapsed on a farm in West Cork this afternoon.

Gardai and emergency services attended the fatal incident, which happened on a farm near Bandon shortly after 4pm.

A man aged in his 50s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Another man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

Gardai are preserving the scene and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are due to attend the farm.

A spokesperson for the HSA confirmed they are aware of the incident and have launched an investigation.

A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardai and emergency services responded to a fatal workplace accident at a premises near Bandon, Co. Cork shortly after 4:00pm on Thursday, 11th December 2025.

"A male in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body remains at the scene. Another male has been brought to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

"The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and are due to attend the scene, which remains preserved."
