Woman dies in two vehicle horror crash in Co. Cork

Gardai have launched an investigation after a woman died in a road crash in Co Cork.

The woman, who was in her sixties, died in the accident on the N25 between Midleton and Youghal.

The two vehicle collision happened at around 6.15pm. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Garda statement said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the N25 Midleton to Youghal Road in Cork, this evening Monday, 15th December 2025.

“The collision involved two cars and occurred at approximately 6:15pm near the Two Mile Inn.

“A woman, aged in her 60s, has been pronounced deceased and her body has been removed from the scene.”

Gardai said a man in his 60s who was in the car with the woman who died was taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be serious.

Nobody else was injured.

The Garda statement said: “The N25 Midleton to Youghal Road is currently closed with local diversions in place.

“The road is expected to remain closed overnight and into tomorrow morning. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly.

“An examination of the scene will be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.

“Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

“Any road users travelling in the area between 6:00pm and 6:30pm, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to Gardaí.”
