Tata launched the all-new Sierra in the Indian market recently. The internet is flooded with reviews and opinions about the new Sierra. One of the questions that we are hearing a lot about the new SUV is whether it is justifying the Sierra name. We have seen videos of people comparing the all-new Sierra with the old one. Here, we have a video where a retired Army officer who owns a 1998 model Tata Sierra shares what he has to say about the new one.The video has been shared by Vishal Ahlawat on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger takes the all-new Sierra to the owner of a 1998 model Sierra, who is a retired Army officer. The officer gives a quick tour of his 27-year-old Sierra. He mentions that the reason he has not sold this car is because of its sturdy build quality.He has had four accidents in this Sierra and, in all of them, he escaped without any major injuries. The vlogger asks about the features that the old Sierra offered, and he looks almost surprised when he hears about power steering, power windows, and even rear AC vents in a 27-year-old vehicle.The owner mentions that he has had many road trips with the old Sierra, and on highways he has even cruised at a steady speed of 120 kmph in this old SUV. It was extremely comfortable, and he had made the SUV his home, loading the boot with his belongings.He was, and still is, extremely happy with the Sierra and mentions that many people have approached him asking whether he is interested in selling the SUV. To this, the owner said no. Coming to the new Sierra, he was extremely happy with the overall design and how modern the new Sierra looks.He also mentions that the SUV is spacious for three people, but the hump in the middle of the seat eats up space and might make things slightly cumbersome for the third passenger. The new SUV offers more features. He is, however, not too happy with the fact that Tata didn’t offer the signature Alpine window in the new Sierra.That was intentionally done by Tata as the new one is a 5-door SUV, and it was also the right thing for them to do to make this SUV better in terms of safety. The old Sierra owner was extremely happy and even mentioned that he was waiting for the new Sierra to launch so that he could use the new engine on his old Sierra and continue to drive it around.Towards the end of the video, he mentions that Tata has justified using the Sierra nameplate on this SUV, but if anyone asks him to pick between the old Sierra and the new one, he would definitely go with the old or original one as it has a rough and tough SUV-like character. The new one looks premium.
