Paul Mescal’s business posts HUGE boost in profits as latest film hits the big screen

Paul Mescal’s business has posted a large boost in profits as his latest film hits the stage.

The actor is the sole owner of the Dublin-based company Castle Dawson Pictures Ltd, which is listed under “support activities to the performing arts.”

The latest accounts for his company show a healthy profit of €1.02 million and a dividend payout of €333,333 in the 12 months to the end of September 2024.

According to Business Plus magazine, that figure marks a more than triple jump on the €309,051 profit recorded in 2023, increasing the company’s accumulated profit from €474,809 to €1.17 million.

Since his breakthrough performance in Normal People in 2020, the star has become an international celebrity, so it is not surprising that he has been making big moves.

Since since, he has taken the central stage in popular movies like Gladiator II and will play Sir Paul McCartney in the upcoming Beatles biographical series.

Maggie O’Farrell’s book is the basis for Paul’s current film, Hamnet, which he stars alongside Jessie Buckley.

The film, which was directed by Chloé Zhao, depicts the romance between Agnes and William Shakespeare, both before and after their son Hamnet passed away.

The pair have both been nominated for Golden Globes for their portrayals in the film.

Paul is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor, Motion Picture category for his performance.

The 29-year-old will go head to head against Benicio Del Toro for One Battle After Another,  Jacob Elordi for Frankenstein, Sean Penn for One Battle After Another, Adam Sandler for Jay Kelly and Stellan Skarsgard for Sentimental Value.

This is the first time the actor has received a nomination for a Golden Globe.

Jessie is also nominated for her role in Hamnet, scoring a nod in the Best Female Actor In A Motion Picture, Drama.

In her category, she is up against Jennifer Lawrence for Die My Love, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, Julia Roberts for After The Hunt, Tessa Thompson for Hedda and Eva Victor for Sorry, Baby.
