Dan Bongino announces he's QUIT FBI to return to popular talk show

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed Wednesday he has resigned his position.

Bongino's announcement comes mere hours after Trump appeared to announce his imminent departure while speaking with reporters under the wing of Air Force One on Wednesday.

The President said, 'Dan did a great job. I think he wants to go back to his show,' apparently in reference to his previous role as a conservative commentator.

In a statement announcing his departure,  Boingino noted that he would 'be leaving his position with the FBI in January.'

"I want to thank President Trump, AG Bondi, and Director Patel for the opportunity to serve with purpose. Most importantly, I want to thank you, my fellow Americans, for the privilege to serve you,' Bongino continued.

"God bless America, and all those who defend Her,' he concluded.

This is a developing story.
