Toyota used 2025 to remind everyone that “future Toyota” is going to look a little different — even if not all of it is headed for U.S. driveways.
The year’s slate mixed production SUVs and trucks with a batch of concepts that clearly serve as design and tech testbeds, from adventurous bZ and an all-new 2026 RAV4, complete with a new Woodland variant, to GR-branded performance studies and boxy, retro-leaning off-road shapes.
Some of the most intriguing metal, like the Hilux BEV, Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid and IMV Origin, will remain forbidden fruit for American buyers, which only adds to the frustration for fans watching from afar.
Taken together, though, 2025’s reveals offer a sharp glimpse of where Toyota wants to go next — sometimes tougher, sometimes greener, but always likely to keep other automotive competitors on their toes, no matter what market you happen to live in.
