Dashing French model accused of being a drug dealer to Bondi's high society party people faces court

A French model and actor living in Bondi with ties to Sydney's top tier socialites has faced court on charges of supplying a commercial quantity of cocaine.

Matthieu Frasse-Perange, orginally from the south of France, faced Waverley Court on Tuesday, sitting at John Maddison Tower, over two drug supply charges and allegations of dealing with proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Police allege the French national, 38, supplied cocaine in Tamarama on November 29, where he also dealt with $2550 which was suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

Frasse-Perange counts several notorious Bondi party playboys among his acquaintances on social media, including Raoul Kesby, who was previously jailed for his role in a major Sydney drug supply plot.

Kesby and two others attempted to supply what they believed was around 50kg of cocaine, with an estimated street value in the tens of millions of dollars. He was sentenced to a non‑parole period of 2 years and 10 months.

Dressed casually in a white t-shirt and navy slacks, Frasse-Perange represented himself in court after his lawyer failed to return from holiday.

Following a brief pause to call his lawyer, the off-duty model and actor had his case adjourned by Magistrate Michael Barko until February 4, when he will be required to enter a plea.

The accused drug dealer has previously modelled for high-end fashion designer Tom Ford and Australian department store David Jones.

According to a European talent agency, Frasse-Perange speaks French, English, and Spanish, and ‘simply’ Chinese.

The agency describes him as 185 cm tall, with an athletic build and green eyes.

He attended the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 and has appeared in various TV commercials. Frasse-Perange has previously been based in New York City, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles.

In 2012, he lived in China to gain experience and build his portfolio. He began modelling after a motorcycle accident in 2006.

‘Thanks to the many brands and clients, there are plenty of jobs in China. I work almost every day because the market is so big,’ he previously told the Global Times.
