Ben Affleck got asked a very, very important question this week: Does he know Lisa Barlow?
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans know the actor’s name came up on this season, all because Lisa used him as an excuse as to why she missed the first cast trip. She told Angie Katsanevas she didn’t want to spend time with their co-star, Bronwyn Newport, and couldn’t make it anyway due to work commitments, involving Ben and Blake Lively:
“I don’t want to spend the night with Bronwyn. She’s a pathological liar. She can’t tell the truth to save her life. It’s like, disgusting. Also, I have a work thing. It’s like, a big deal. I think what people forget is I have a very full life. Because I keep it kinda private. And like, I’m not gonna drop names, but like, I’ll be with Ben [Affleck] and Blake [Lively]. I’ll be with Ben Affleck and you’ll be with Bronwyn.”

She never specified what event she met Ben at, so the cast and fans didn’t believe her. It’s become this whole mystery. Thankfully, someone decided to go straight to the source to get to the bottom of it — and it was incredibly awkward! During a joint interview for Access Hollywood with Matt Damon on Friday, a journalist asked Ben:
“It’s Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, cast member Lisa Barlow is saying that she was with you at an event with her husband, and she wasn’t able to film. The cast members don’t believe her. So the question is, do you know who Lisa Barlow is?”
OMG! She is asking what the people want to know! Ben looked so confused the entire time, responding:
“I don’t want to get anybody in trouble or – I don’t know what this is – an event in Salt Lake City? Like, prove somebody right or wrong?”
The reporter clarified Lisa never said which event she attended, but she is a big Sundance girl, and it was likely held in Utah. However, Ben shared that he hasn’t been to the state in YEARS:
“I haven’t been in Utah in maybe, 8, 9 or 10 years, I don’t know. It doesn’t look familiar to me and I don’t remember anything.”
That said, Ben noted he could have met her before, and it slipped his mind because he runs into so many people at events:
“I don’t want to embarrass her because, I say hi to a lot of people, I don’t want to be the jerk who is like, I did meet you… You don’t remember everyone you meet. I don’t think I’m qualified to weigh in on this, whatever this raging controversy is.”
Sooo, that would be a no! He doesn’t have a clue who she is! LOLz! We bet Ben is so sick of the reality stars in Utah name-dropping him at this point! Watch the awkward interview moment (below):
Ben may not remember Lisa, but she does know exactly when they met! And she is pulling out receipts! She wrote in the comments of the post:
“SXSW [for] The Accountant 2. And it was a great movie and party.”
That refers to Ben’s movie premiere at the festival in Austin, Texas, in March 2025. The Vida Tequila owner also posted a video to TikTok, showing the filmmaker walking the red carpet and a snippet of Blake talking on stage about her film Another Simple Favor. Watch (below):
