Brazilian doctors treat burns with tilapia fish skin, and it's working
Brazil's three skin banks meet only 1% of the national demand for burn treatment. In Fortaleza, doctors found an alternative: sterilized tilapia skin applied directly to second- and third-degree burns as a biological bandage, PBS reports.
