Fight outside £2.5m home leaves man dead as police quiz 44-year-old
A fight outside a £2.5million seaside home on Sunday left one man dead and another arrested on suspicion of murder in Dorset.Police arrested a 44-year-old as part of a murder investigation after a man in his 50s was found injured by the entrance to the gated home in the affluent Branksome Park area of Poole, Dorset.Officers and paramedics were called at 6.46am on Sunday and the man was taken to hospital where he died a few hours later.The 44-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.He was later arrested on suspicion of murder after the victim died and remains in police custody.Dorset Police said the two men knew each other but refused to say if either were connected to the property where the fight took place. Officers taped off the entrance to the house on Lakeside Road and an alleyway running next to itOfficers taped off the entrance to the house on Lakeside Road and an alleyway running next to it, while a mobile police incident room has also been set up on the road.The road was closed while police examined the area but reopened at around 8pm on Sunday evening.Police said the death was being treated as unexplained and an arrest had been made ‘to assist detectives in gathering as much information as they can’.A spokesperson added: 'There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area as investigative work is carried out to establish what happened.'
