White sneakers are probably the most worn shoe in my closet (perhaps tied with the ever-versatile loafer). They’re comfortable (assuming you have the right pair) and practical — and on-trend, which is really a unicorn combo that every 40+ year old loves to find. I own a handful of different brands but definitely play favorites. So today, I’m sharing the best options for every style and occasion.

If you love the clean look of white leather sneakers, the VEJA Campo are, hands down, the best option. VEJA sneakers are super popular for their eco-friendly production and sleek, European-inspired design. They do require a little bit of a break-in period, though. The VEJA sneakers also have just slightly more “bulk,” which makes them extremely durable. If I were headed to Europe this summer, this is the pair I’d take since these white sneakers go with dresses, skirts or jeans.

I also have to note that VEJA sells a fun velcro-style, the Recife, so if you already have white sneakers with traditional laces and want to try a different style, try those.

If you want a summer sneaker, the Campo is also available in a breathable, canvas upper but they’re a bit harder to find. They seem to be discontinuing it.

You can grab Vejas at Zappos, Nordstrom, or Anthropologie.

Adidas Gazelle sneakers were a huge trend in 2025 (see my whole roundup of trendy sneakers here), and sport sneakers are not going away. I love this light pink pair of Gazelles since the suede upper makes them a little less sporty than other sneakers. Plus, they’re comfortable right out of the box.

They also come in a white colorway with green detailing that would be perfect to wear to the Masters, if you’re heading there this spring.

Keds Champion Originals Lace Up sneakers are an affordable choice for white sneakers. They give me major nostalgia since I picked out a pair at Payless every year growing up (they’ve been around since 1916 – crazy). These are lightweight, machine washable, and have a super minimal profile on the foot. These sneakers work well for warmer weather and casual wear, giving a clean and simple look. They’re under $55.

Tretorn’s Nylite sneakers are the best summer sneaker because they’re made with a durable canvas that’s breathable. They remind me of Keds, but the silhouette has more material and looks more substantial on the foot. When I wore them the first few times, they did rub my heel just a little bit, so you may need to factor in some break-in time. These are on the affordable end, too.

I got the Sam Edelman Kallen sneakers last summer, and I absolutely love them. They’re a bit more retro than the other sneakers in this roundup and have a “court-inspired” look. I don’t typically like court-inspired shoes, but I’ve been shocked by how often I grab these. They’re cute with shorts, jeans, and even dresses.

If you’re looking for a white sneaker that you can wear for long walks or even workouts, the On Cloudmonster delivers. These sneakers provide exceptional arch support, a cushioned insole, and a durable sole for maximum comfort. I wish I could accurately describe how comfortable these are, but you just have to trust me. The downside is that you don’t want to pair these with jeans or dresses (unless it’s athleisure), so they aren’t quite as versatile.

I reach for my New Balance 327 sneakers whenever I’m dressed a bit sportier. They work well with athleisure, but not as well as some of the other options do, with jeans or dresses. I always wear these (or my APLs, keep reading) when I’m flying since they’re comfortable and cute and lightweight.

If you want a retro sneaker that’s more athletic-looking, the New Balance 530 is the best pick. These sneakers work well for both workouts and casual wear. They’re very lightweight, so they can feel a bit insubstantial for intense workouts, so I wear them more for moderate-lifting days or simply for athleisure.

The Streamline sneakers from APL are definitely an investment, but I have absolutely loved them ever since I got them. They’re very pretty shoe, super cushiony, and give me a little added height which is a bonus. If you can grab them on sale, that would be my recommendation, but they also make a great gift for someone special. I gifted a pair of APL sneakers to my husband and my nanny for Christmas this past year.
