Canada's medal count at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic Games now stands at three after a silver in short-track mixed relay speed skating on Tuesday.Figure skater Stephen Gogolev successfully qualified for the men's free program, despite his laces coming undone during his performance.Later, the U.S. stunned Canada 5-0 in a preliminary-round women's hockey game.It was only the second ever preliminary-round defeat for Canada's women at the Olympics, after a loss to the U.S. at Nagano 1998.Captain Marie-Philip Poulin was visibly frustrated as she watched from the sidelines, after suffering an injury in the Czechia game on Monday.
