If you've chosen to stay in the capital for the holiday, you might be looking for a nice way to relax and enjoy your free time. A great option is going to one of Beijing's many hot spring resorts. Here we've picked out six of our favorite spots to relax and melt those winter blues away!

Chun Hui Yuan Resort

Located up in Shunyi, Chun Hui Yuan has over 20 different kinds of hot springs with everything from larger pools to smaller medicinal pools with remedies like rose, milk, and red wine. The pools are centered around a lake, so you can take in scenic views as you enjoy your soak. They also have a large indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa, restaurant and hotel rooms, including lake-side villas with their own private hot spring pool if you’re looking for a staycation.

Number 9 Hot Springs Living House

If you want to combine hot springs with an all-you-can-eat buffet, then look no further than Number 9 Hot Springs Living House! Here, the entrance ticket includes a buffet with a range of seafood, meat from a grill section, hot and cold dishes, desserts and more. Along with a number of indoor and outdoor pools, they have a ton of additional amenities like steam rooms, a sauna, a spa, gaming rooms and reading rooms. This is the most centrally located hot spring on our list, situated in southeast Chaoyang. Plus, since it’s open 24 hours, you can go there any time you like!

Jiuhua Resort and Convention Center

One of the resorts on this list that boasts natural hot springs, Jiuhua Resort has over 40 different hot spring pools filled with naturally mineral-rich water. What's more, since it's designed with traditional Chinese architecture in mind, the resort looks a little bit like a hot spring spa crossed with the Forbidden City. There is a large, heated outdoor pool in the center and other facilities available are saunas, a hydrotherapy center, mud baths, a Thai spa, restaurants and guest rooms. Go here if you're looking to pretend you're emperor or empress during your hot spring vacay.

Jinyu Fengshan Hot Springs Resort

Located just south of Mangshan Forest Park, Jinyu Fengshan Hot Springs is the perfect place if you’re looking to get back to nature. This resort has natural hot springs and the water is full of beneficial minerals like fluoride, iron, magnesium, lithium, silicon, copper and zinc. They have a total of 68 indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, with the outdoor pools hidden among pine trees, cypress and fruit trees to create a mountain forest feel, while the indoor pools are surrounded by large tropical plants reminiscent of a rain forest. For those wanting a staycation as well, you can stay at the resort, which has its own golf club and fitness and recreation center.

There are also saunas, massage pools, wood plank baths, fitness areas, a dining and shopping area and hotel rooms.
