Karlla’s fun layout is filled with papers and embellishment with takes on classic board games, perfect for capturing moments of playing together. I love how she used Scrabble tile letters to spell out her title and subtitles! She also included brads and stitching for texture and dimension. Learn more at the Simple Stories blog.
Don’t you love getting together and doing things as a family? Whether it’s something big like going on vacation or something small like staying home and playing board games, family time is fun time and it’s always something worth scrapping about. Create layouts that capture those memories of happy days and nights with each other doing what your family enjoys, no matter what that is because being together and having a great time is what’s really important. Let’s take a peek at some scrapbook layout ideas that’s sure to inspired us to document our own Family Fun.
A cheerful family trip to the fair is the focus of Krislyn’s layout. She created her own amazing border with strips of folded double sided pattern papers to create chevron shapes, placed together to form a zig zag line. The same papers make a simpler triangle border up top too. There’s 3 photos and a journaling card on the center grid design with firework embellishment and a month sticker. Find directions at the Creative Memories blog.
Taina’s Traveler’s Notebook pages document the fun of a winter BINGO night. She used snowflake papers for the background, die cut and stick letters for her title and included clusters of printed dies, rub-ons and chipboard shapes around the photos. Take a closer look at the Cocoa Daisy blog.
An amazing family trip to Italy uses Italian inspired products like journaling cards, pattern paper and stickers. I love the style of this layout with one large photo balanced on the opposite corner by a printed card with a photo strip across the center for 4 additional photos with of course some pasta and pizza stickers. I came across this idea on the Echo Park Paper Instagram page.
This family had fun hiking through the woods in a layout that used lots of blues and greens with touches of woodgrain papers. There’s pops of orange too with lots of cool outdoorsy sayings, many strips of papers and a circle for journaling. One side of this double page layout has a grid of 4 photos and the other has one large pic as the focal point. Take a closer peek on the Stampin’ Up blog.
Wendy’s family night out for a game of darts layout has bold bright colors and patterns with cool dart boards and darts embellishments. There are torn pattern papers for side borders, a couple of tied tags, sentiment strips and lots of thick acrylic words and stars for depth and dimension. Learn more at the Bramble Fox blog.
My family loves going out to eat together and I always try to take pics of us and of course all the yummy food. Kirei’s page captures a birthday lunch with a large grid of photos in the center, florals and bows at the sides, written journaling below and a background of yellow flower pattern paper. Notice how she adhered the wooden title over top of the photos, it really draws the eye in. Watch her process video at the Hey Little Magpie blog.
I love the juxtaposition of flowers and snowy images on this ski trip layout from Jana! She created a snowy hill and sky with pattern papers for the background and added lots of clusters around the photos including some tucked in tags. The quote bubbles are fun for journaling spaces as well! She breaks it all down at the Jana Eubank blog.
Family fun can be as simple as just making silly faces for the camera like on this sweet layout from Jaimee. Her digital design has two rows of funny photos on a kraft background with splatters, rings, doodles, faux washi tape and typed journaling. I spotted her idea at The Lily Pad gallery.
I love Bruna’s idea of taking family vacation photos 10 years apart and connecting them with a rainbow, so sweet! She created her layout with pattern paper arches for the rainbow, adding the photos and floral clusters at each end, then split it in half to fit over two smaller pages. Learn more about this asymmetrical page over on the Traci Reed Designs blog.
Don’t forget to document the every day family fun of getting together even just to run out and grab an ice cream or treats. This design has pastel colors, with chipboard shapes, flowers, die cut hearts backed with pattern papers, scatters of sequins and fabric hearts. I came across this layout on the Not Just for the Boys Kit Club Instagram page.
If your family loves to garden together then check out this wonderful design from Ashley. She added gardening pattern papers on two corners over brown paper that gives the feeling of dirt. There’s vines at the edges and rows of pots with sentiments along the lower corner as well. Find a link to her process video at the Scrappy and I Know It blog.
No matter how you spend time with family I hope you have fun (and be sure to scrap about it!).
