IndiGo Picks IATA Chief Willie Walsh for CEO

InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, on Tuesday appointed Willie Walsh as its new CEO, subject to regulatory approvals.

Walsh, currently the Director General of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will step down from the role on July 31 and join IndiGo by August 3.

His appointment, announced via a press release, comes less than a month after the abrupt resignation of Pieter Elbers, following one of the most damaging operational crises in Indian aviation history.
