It is truly life changing granola because it tastes fabulous.
And yes, we are about to put cookies in this granola. Oh my yum.
We love the cookies and cream granola from Trader Joe’s. It is so delicious in yogurt, with milk, heck – by the handful. And at this point, I’m pretty sure it’s been discontinued. So I knew that I had to recreate it.
But how? I didn’t want to use a ton of oreos in the granola because then… like, why don’t I just eat some oreos instead? I wanted granola that tasted just like cookies.
And I wanted it to be cookies and cream-adjacent, but not as sweet or indulgent AS cookies. Make sense?
Guess what? It’s almost as GOOD as the cookies!!! Maybe even better at times. Because you can just eat it by the handful.
You are in for a legit treat. I can’t even believe how good this stuff is. It will become your new favorite granola!
The base has my classic granola ingredients. Old fashioned oats, big flaked coconut, sliced almonds, hemp hearts and more. And by more, I mean a touch of cocoa powder.
This cocoa powder is what MAKES the granola. It gives us the chocolate cookie flavor because we even add in some cookies.
I like to use oreo thins to crush into the granola when it’s almost cooled. I also use these enjoy life white chocolate chips – I find them to be the best. They have an amazing vanilla-y flavor. In fact, when melty, they almost taste just like the inside filling of an oreo!

This cookies and cream granola is the ultimate crunchy snack! Tasting just like your favorite cookies, this is super satisfying and delicious, ideal to add to yogurt, milk or even eat by the handful.
3 cups rolled oats1 cup sliced almonds1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes¼ cup ground flaxseed¼ cup hemp hearts2 tablespoons cocoa powder2 ½ teaspoons kosher salt½ cup brown sugar½ cup butter or avocado oil⅓ cup maple syrup10 oreo thins, chopped1 cup mini white chocolate chips, I find the enjoy life brand works best!optional: add in mini oreos if you wishPreheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment In a large bowl, stir together the oats, almonds, coconut, flaxseed, hemp hearts and salt.
In a small saucepan, heat the butter, syrup and sugar. Whisk until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat.
Pour the wet ingredients over the dry and mix. Stir until everything is combined and covered.
Spread the mixture out on the parchment paper. Bake for 30 minutes, tossing the granola twice during cook time. Remove from the oven and toss well. Let cool for 15 minutes.
Stir in half the chocolate chips and the chopped oreos. Let cool completely. Add the remaining white chocolate chips. Keep in a sealed container for 2 weeks.
Daily meal!
