Irish Rail confirms new morning service to Dublin city starting next week

Irish Rail will commence a new morning, limited stop Commuter service between the stations Drogheda and Dublin Connolly from next Monday (20 April).The new 6.05am Drogheda to Dublin Connolly will serve Balbriggan, Skerries, Rush & Lusk, Donabate and Malahide Stations en route, arriving in Dublin Connolly at 7.09am.The service will be a six-carriage train and will operate Monday to Friday. When it launches, there will be a total of 10 trains that depart Drogheda in the morning peak with a pre-9am Dublin city centre arrival.In a statement on Tuesday (14 April), Irish Rail said the announcement follows recent engagement with Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien, the National Transport Authority, transport agencies and other stakeholders. This is to identify "early opportunities for additional measures to boost public transport capacity or ease congestion".Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien has praised the new service, stating: "This is very welcome news for commuters across North County Dublin."The new 06:05hrs service from Drogheda to Dublin Connolly will make a real difference for early morning commuters, providing greater choice, reliability and convenience.
