Megan posts poolside pics of herself wearing her Hot Girl Summer swimwear line from Walmart on July 9, and fans notice a guy in the background who they're convinced is the NBA player.

As one person put it, “Wait, is that Klay just casually chilling?😂😂.” And as another added, “My guy Klay Thompson still shooting and not missing.”

A few days later, Klay hits Instagram with a photo of himself kissing someone who looks a lot like Megan:

Obviously, everyone runs to Megan’s account and notices that her manicure matches from beach pics she posted the same day.

On July 16, the couple makes their official debut at Megan’s Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala (which honors her parents) at Gotham Hall in NYC!

Megan absolutely gushes about Klay on the carpet, saying “Oh, we met and it was such a meet cute it was like a fucking movie. I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie.”

Megan also tells Page Six, “I have never dated somebody so kind. This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy. I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”

Meanwhile, Klay chats to Us Weekly and says, “Well, it feels incredible because Megan is such a special person and she inspires so many around the world. I’ve seen it firsthand. This is just another incredible feat of hers to be able to give back, create foundation, and raise a ton of money for those in need. And I’m honored to be here by her side.”

At this point, the couple is so in love, they’re all over their social feeds. The videos have been deleted since their split, but according to Billboard, they posted their workout routine and even went golfing together.

Meg drops a track called “LOVER GIRL” inspired by her whirlwind romance with Klay.

When Klay lost his starting spot on the Dallas Mavericks, Hoopin’ N Hollerin’ podcast co-host and former NBA player Jason Williams blamed Klay’s gameplay on his relationship with Meg. “It only takes one pussy to drag a battleship across a desert. That’s how powerful it is,” he said. “I ain’t saying that’s what it is, but that might be what it is.”

“The Thanksgiving dinner was the best Thanksgiving food I’ve ever eaten. Megan Thee Stallion should be Megan Thee Chef," Mychal told ESPN LA, per Hollywood Unlocked. "That’s how good the food was. It was unbelievable. She went out of her way to make sure everybody was well-fed. We had to take tons of bags home. There were so many leftovers. So, our guests had to take home. Per People, she posts several shots of it in a since-deleted Instagram post, including a sweet clip of Klay planting a kiss on her cheek. According to Meg’s carousel, they rang in her 31st birthday with a tropical beach getaway, as she captioned the post, “Aw man I was not ready for this birthday trip to be over 🥹. A time was definitely had🏝️🍹🥳 THANK YOU BABY⚓️.”

April 2026

On April 25, Megan hops on her Instagram Stories alleging that Klay had cheated on her.

“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house…got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote, in part.

She continued, “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????”

The following day, she got emotional during her performance in Broadway’s Moulin Rouge!, and fans are convinced it had, in part, to do with her reported split from Klay.

“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” Megan said in a statement to E! NewsApril 25. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.”

“I’m taking this time to prioritize myself, and move ahead with peace and clarity,” she added. Klay has yet to respond to the allegations.
