Who dies in Coronation Street? Murder victim 'unveiled' days before episode airs
Coronation Street fans have ‘rumbled’ who gets killed off during murder week.In February, a special flashback episode revealed that Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) discovers a dead body on the street. The residents at risk include Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), Theo Silverton (James Silverton), Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard). All of the potential victims named have motives and suspects, and this week, they all get an episode focusing on their potential final day, before the victim is finally revealed. And in Monday’s instalment (April 27) evil Theo and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) were the main focus.Just as Todd was about to leave for a break in Thailand, Theo broke into their flat and continued to terrorise Todd. However, with the help of George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Todd managed to lock Theo in the bathroom before making an escape. However, when the police showed up Theo was nowhere to be found. He was later seen getting out of his van only to be left surprised by an unseen character who arrived just as he got out of the van. Theo chuckled as he said: “Am I supposed to be scared?" before cutting to a scene in the Rovers. Now, fans reckon the mystery person Theo was chatting to could be fellow potential victim Carl Webster. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “Was that Carl that approached Theo? Could it be Theo who kills Carl?”A second chimed in: “I think they might threaten to expose each other and try and kill.” A third penned: “You could be right.” Another also mused:’”I think Carl is going to kill Theo or Theo will kill Carl.”There has been a lot of speculation on who might die, with producer Kate Brooks previously teasing that the fallout is huge. Speaking at the start of the year, she said: "We've got a special episode coming up mid-February.“And in that episode, we are doing a little bit of a flash-forward. This is something that's been in the making for a really long time, and it gives us a destination for some big stories, for them to all come together and be involved in a much bigger, bigger storyline."Essentially, during the course of our flash forward episode, we discover that one of our characters has found a dead body on the street, and we don't know who it is."There are five potential victims and we'll take the audience on a journey for them to try and figure out who that body is, what happened, what's the backstory to it and how did they get to that place? Why did that person die and when did they die?"Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
